Contracts
As an employer, the family must issue written
"contract of employment" within two months of commencement of employment. This should include:
- Names of employer and employee
- The date when employment began.
- Salary and intervals when paid e.g. weekly, monthly.
- Hours of work (if flexible, then the maximum hours to be worked in any one week).
- Overtime requirements and method of payment e.g. additional pay or time off in lieu.
- Holiday entitlement.
- Sickness entitlement.
- Pension arrangements, if any.
- Length of notice required on both sides to terminate the contract.
- Title of the job.
- Place of work.
- Details of discipline and grievance procedures.
